In the research area of BioMEMS, our primary aim is to develop microsystems for various biosensor applications. Our research studies are carried out on the synthesis of various nanoparticles, design and production of microfluidic systems, development of silicon and polymer-based production processes, and development of sensors and actuators for biomedical applications. We also specialize in creating diverse microfluidic systems and lab-on-a-chip components tailored for various BioMEMS applications.

Some of our studies can be summarized under the following categories:

  • CTC and ctDNA detection systems for liquid biopsy applications
  • Biosensors for the diagnosis of body fluids
  • Quantum dot and lanthanide-based nanoparticles for labeling studies in biosensor applications
  • Micro-electrochemical sensors for biomolecule screening and subcomponents of lab-on-a-chip systems
  • 3D cell culture systems
  • Microsystems for stem cell culture and storage
