ABSTRACT:

The demand for integrated circuit designers is higher than ever before around the globe. The highest demand is for engineers with multiple dimensions, who can merge IC design knowhow with microwaves, digital synthesis, and signal analysis. This is particularly the case for communications systems where the frequency of operation is increasing very rapidly. In this talk we will briefly discuss what Microwave Communications Group of ADI does with some examples. We will then delve into the design details of a particular chip, understanding the design steps taken. Please join us to learn more about the fun and exciting world of integrated circuit design.

BIO:

Fatih Koçer received his Electrical Engineering degree from METU in 1999. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan in 2005. From 2005 to 2013 he was with the Hittite Microwave as a member of the technical staff. From 2013 to 2017 he was with the EE department at METU, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses on integrated circuit design. In 2017 he joined Analog Devices, Wilmington, MA, USA, where he currently works as the director of RF IC design.
